Our story

Hair that still looks good on the day you’re due back.

Aurel Hair Studio opened on Willow Lane in 2014 with two chairs and one idea: colour and cuts that look as good six weeks on as they do when you leave.

That means taking time over the consultation, choosing colour that grows out softly, and cutting for the way you actually dry your hair. It also means telling you when something won’t work.

Today there are three of us, each with a speciality, sharing one calm room with good light and the kettle on.

How we work.

  • Consultation first

    Every appointment starts in the chair with a conversation, not with the scissors.

  • Honest advice

    If a shade or a cut won’t work for your hair, we will say so, and suggest what will.

  • Patch tests, by the book

    A quick skin test at least 48 hours before colour, whenever our colour brand’s instructions call for one.

  • Room to breathe

    Appointments spaced so nobody is rushed, with a quiet chair if you would rather not chat.
